What is LISPAN's Mission? Calendar
To provide additional mental health support and
volunteer mental health staff on a temporary basis to LISPAN member school
districts, upon request of the school district superintendent or designee, to
mitigate the impact of a local or regional school crisis
To serve as a model for the formation and promotion of regional crisis teams within and outside of New York State
To improve the communication and clinical response effectiveness of LISPAN volunteers by hosting regularly scheduled meetings of network representatives. These meetings will rotate locations among Nassau and Suffolk county member districts
To emphasize the role of school crisis prevention via the sponsorship of ongoing training in National Association of School Psychologist (NASP) PREPaRE Workshop 1, entitled “Crisis Prevention and Preparedness: Comprehensive School Safety Planning”
To facilitate the implementation of a “best practices” model using the NASP PREPaRE Workshop 2 curriculum.
